My integrity and your trust in me is worth far more than a quick buck, and heaven knows there’s no quick bucks in Jewish conversion blogs. I once sat in your shoes, so I work to keep your best interest in mind for every decision I make here. Unless I believe that something is valuable to you, I will not post it. I’m an opinionated woman, and I hope you will learn that I take pride in my honesty and integrity.
I want you to know and trust that my work here is not motivated by money. If that is what drove me, I’d be working in a BigLaw firm rather than spending hours upon hours creating free and affordable content to help you build a Jewish life. I created this blog and site because I’m passionate about Judaism, angered at how the conversion process is currently being handled, and because I believe I have enough knowledge and insight to make a meaningful contribution to the dialogue.
I’m not here to milk you for money, which is shown by the astonishingly small amount of money I have made in over 5 years of working for you. But there are significant costs: domains, hosting, graphic design, tech help, my time, and more.
That said, I am working to increase the income I earn from this work, through various forms of advertising, by creating content (like ebooks) that you will want to pay for, and through tutoring and other personal coaching. This will not affect or change the availability of free content through the blog and other pages on this site.
So how does this affect you?
Paid Advertisements? Yes!
There are ads on this site, but I try to make them non-obtrusive. I earn a small amount of revenue from each click on those ads. (In case you really like me: please don’t click ads solely for the purpose of earning me money. “Fake” clicks are heavily policed by Google, and both of us could be punished by our Google Overlords.)
This ads are created and placed by an ad network like AdSense. I have no control over the ads you see except to block adult-oriented content. Those aforementioned Google Overlords “target” you with ads based on your online behavior, not the content of this site. In other words, they show you ads they predict you will like. Please do not email me to tell me that there are Christian advertisements on my blog. Those ads are what Google thinks you want to see, not part of a nefarious scheme to undermine my message (or so I hope).
I don’t currently have any private advertisers, but if you would be interested in a relevant ad for your small business, be in touch.
Affiliate Links? Yes!
Sometimes, I will link to a product using an affiliate link. This means that if you click on the link and purchase an item, I will receive a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay, and I am not told who bought what, your address, your credit card number, or any other personal information.
Any post that includes an affiliate link will be marked as such with a disclaimer at the bottom of the post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services that I believe will be valuable to my readers and have personally used. In some cases, I may not have used the product, such as when it is a product specifically for men or because I’ve just bought it myself and wanted to share the deal before it expired (happens a lot with Kindle books).
Sponsored Posts? Maybe, but Unlikely. None yet.
Sponsored posts are when a company offers to pay a blogger to write a post or series of posts about their product or service. This could also include Giveaways, which I am open to hosting for the right product or service.
My independence from rabbinical and conversion organizations is very important to me. This desire for independence and integrity extends to most other areas, and therefore, I am unlikely to accept a sponsored post. I have not yet accepted an offer for a sponsored post, and I would not choose to do one lightly. If and when I write a sponsored post, it’ll be clearly identified as such, but it will include only my honest opinions.
If you’d like to host a giveaway for your product or service and think that it would be relevant to my readers, be in touch.
Paid Content? No!
I do not accept payment to post articles written by others. I may accept relevant guest posts without payment, and they will be clearly marked.
