As of today, the blog is on indefinite hiatus. I may be done blogging; I don’t know. Regardless, the content already here will remain. Please refrain from emailing me, as I won’t be checking the account.
After an incredibly inappropriate breach of my privacy, I think this blog has gotten out of control. This is no longer a safe space, so I’d rather fade back into the obscurity of the internet.
Good luck to all of you.

I'm really sad to hear about all of this…I don't follow many jewish blogs but yours had a lot of insight.
Good luck with everything, you deserve to be happy!

Oh no! I'm sorry you've had to deal with that. I really liked your blog. Thanks for everything you've already done. Hopefully you will someday feel safe enough to come back, but if not, best of luck with everything!

Definitely a loss to the online convert kehillah. Hatzlacha, lady. Thank you for providing such a valuable voice.

This saddens me, as I really did enjoy reading your blog. But you should do what's best for you. Take care, Skylar. All the best.

Good move. This is a great resource, but I agree, time to move onwards and upwards. <3

This makes me very sad but I understand you need to ensure your own safety. It's really appalling that someone could cross that boundary. Even, though I'll miss new updates thank you for the wealth of information you have supplied during my own search. I stumbled upon this blog about a week after I asked my Rabbi if I could convert- back when most of the words seemed like gibberish. Thank you for helping me decipher this culture and find meaning for myself.
good luck.

Really upset to learn of cause of your blog hiatus. This is the only blog I read. Your privacy should not have been breached and I appreciate your reasoning. If you change your mind, there will be many a happy reader. Kol Tuv, Steve .

This has been one of the best forums for thoughtful discussion of an important topic. A sad ending to a wonderful project.
Thank you.

As I haven't published the cause except in private fora, I caution you against making assumptions as to the cause. Regardless, this particular issue is merely one example of a readership progressively getting out of control and failing to see the distinction between reality and the internet. Stalkers who love you are still stalkers.

So sorry to hear that. Will miss the regular blog updates. Thanks for leaving it up as a resource.

That's a shame that you won't be blogging anymore. I'm not Jewish and have no interest in converting, but I do enjoy learning about religion (all religions!) and I have learned a lot from here.
CrazyJewishConvert says
Yeah, probably the one you're thinking of.

I'm sorry that you had to make this choice. If it's for the reason I think, I understand (and agree) with your decision, but it's still a shame.

This sounds quite scary Kochava. You must do what you have to ensure you're safety online.
I've enjoyed like others have reading about you're journey but you must like everyone else feel safe online. Like many I am somewhat curious as to what has happened but then it's not for us to know.

I'm sorry to hear that, but understand. Thank you for leaving the content as it is a huge resource.

This has been one thing that always surprised me about bloggers. I know of many public figures namely local new anchors or talk radio personalities who have to deal with uncomfortable situations with unwanted interest. However the same internet that allows for blogging also allows for a little information especially a photo and a name and a few life details to lead to a stalker. I would encourage you some other time months later to maybe try a new identity and blog anonymously under a pseudonym. That might allow you the privacy you want with the benefit of an outlet.
I stumbled on the video blog of someone who called me harassing me at work on youtube and I let it go though it was awkward to learn so much about their personal life after they hurt me badly.
As someone who has been stalked prior I think you are 100% justified in withdrawing I would not blame you if you withdrew from all social media and had an internet black out. That's what I had to do to stop having this well meaning woman from taking the bus to my apartment.
May G-d bless you and be your strong tower.

I have enjoyed your blog, although I'm relatively new to it. I've found your insights very helpful. I'm sorry for whatever happened to breach your privacy. Best wishes.

I'm very sorry to hear about this, even vaguely. Your well-being and safety of course come first; but this is a loss to the larger Jewish community. All the more the offense done to you, as it hurts a whole community. We wish you only well, and hope we'll see you back somehow!

I don't think you should let anyone deter you from posting. Please continue to post. In Judaism too there will be many haters, that doesn't mean one should stop being Jewish. Best though is to keep your personal identifying info private so they don't know who you are and therefore they cannot get to you. You should write under a nickname/pen name as opposed to your real name.

Will miss this voice of reason, humor and level-headedness in a world that's going crazy with more and more chumras every day. Thank you for what you gave to us converts and I hope you will come back as soon as you feel up to it.

I am so sorry to hear this. I am a long term (mostly) lurker. As others have said, your safety and wellbeing are the most important things. I really appreciate all the hard work you have put into this blog – it is an invaluable resource and I am sure it will be appreciated by many more people in the future. I wish you all the best for your life.

Like the others here, I will be sorry to see you go. I am a convert, although not through the Orthodox movement, And I have enjoyed very much your perspectives and insights, as well as your down-to-earth descriptions of practice and tefillah.

I'm sorry to hear you won't be blogging any more, and even more sorry that you had an experience unpleasant enough to lead you to this decision. I will miss your insight and wisdom.
