After an incredibly inappropriate breach of my privacy, I think this blog has gotten out of control. This is no longer a safe space, so I’d rather fade back into the obscurity of the internet.

This makes me very sad but I understand you need to ensure your own safety. It's really appalling that someone could cross that boundary. Even, though I'll miss new updates thank you for the wealth of information you have supplied during my own search. I stumbled upon this blog about a week after I asked my Rabbi if I could convert- back when most of the words seemed like gibberish. Thank you for helping me decipher this culture and find meaning for myself.

As I haven't published the cause except in private fora, I caution you against making assumptions as to the cause. Regardless, this particular issue is merely one example of a readership progressively getting out of control and failing to see the distinction between reality and the internet. Stalkers who love you are still stalkers.

I've enjoyed like others have reading about you're journey but you must like everyone else feel safe online. Like many I am somewhat curious as to what has happened but then it's not for us to know.

This has been one thing that always surprised me about bloggers. I know of many public figures namely local new anchors or talk radio personalities who have to deal with uncomfortable situations with unwanted interest. However the same internet that allows for blogging also allows for a little information especially a photo and a name and a few life details to lead to a stalker. I would encourage you some other time months later to maybe try a new identity and blog anonymously under a pseudonym. That might allow you the privacy you want with the benefit of an outlet.
I stumbled on the video blog of someone who called me harassing me at work on youtube and I let it go though it was awkward to learn so much about their personal life after they hurt me badly.
As someone who has been stalked prior I think you are 100% justified in withdrawing I would not blame you if you withdrew from all social media and had an internet black out. That's what I had to do to stop having this well meaning woman from taking the bus to my apartment.

I'm very sorry to hear about this, even vaguely. Your well-being and safety of course come first; but this is a loss to the larger Jewish community. All the more the offense done to you, as it hurts a whole community. We wish you only well, and hope we'll see you back somehow!
I don't think you should let anyone deter you from posting. Please continue to post. In Judaism too there will be many haters, that doesn't mean one should stop being Jewish. Best though is to keep your personal identifying info private so they don't know who you are and therefore they cannot get to you. You should write under a nickname/pen name as opposed to your real name.
