Jewish conversion can feel like you’re scaling a mountain that no one else sees.
You’re putting in the effort, doing the work, asking the questions—and still wondering if anyone notices. If anyone gets it.
But you’re not as alone as you think.
Today’s step is simple, but powerful:
Name one supportive person you can lean on.
A friend. A rabbi. A classmate. Someone from synagogue who asks the same kinds of thoughtful questions you do. It doesn’t have to be someone who understands everything—just someone who sees you.
Write it down. Reach out. Check in.
Even a simple “Hey, how are you?” can help you feel a little less invisible.
And if no one comes to mind right now? That’s exactly why I created Bayit Builders—a supportive, grounded space for people who are building their Jewish life from scratch, step by step.

Because you don’t have to do this alone.

Jewish conversion can feel so isolating like you’re climbing a mountain that no one else even sees.
But you’re not as alone as you think.
Today’s step is simple. I want you to name one supportive person you can lean on.
A friend, a mentor,
Someone who gets it or who at least would be sympathetic:
a rabbi or mentor you’ve already met, even briefly,
a friend or relative who’s been supportive of your Jewish journey, even if they don’t quite understand it.
A Jewish coworker who’s open-minded and kind.
A convert you admire online or in real life,
A friendly face from classes or synagogue services or someone else you’ve noticed who also asks thoughtful questions in Jewish spaces.
So right now I want you to jot down a little reminder to yourself.
“Message so and so this week.”
Call them this week.
Doesn’t have to be deep. Just to say, “Hey, how are you?”
And if no one comes to mind, that’s what Bayit Builders is for:
a quiet corner of the internet where you do belong.
That’s my new membership program,
and you can learn more about it down below in the link in in bio. You have the chance to be a Founding Member and help shape what this space becomes.
But do really reach out to that person this week. Just one. Start there. You’ll be glad you did.
To help build more of those supportive structures for yourself, come build your bayit with us. Doors are open now.
